TechCruch reports that Facebook is working to develop more tools for broadcasters to facilitate so-called “second screen” activity. The notion is that many people use their computing devices while watching TV, so the more integrated the experience can become, the better it is for the broadcasters.
Of particular interest to those in the public affairs and advocacy space is the release of tools to enable broadcasters to poll viewers. Imagine a presidential debate where people use a Facebook app to submit questions to be answered or vote on who performed the best. Or they might solicit images from advocacy events or of news stories that matter to public affairs pros.
