Advocacy apps have been all the rage for several years now. Companies, associations, and nonprofits have all hoped to have that killer app that would catch on and put their cause at the top of the heap.
Few have panned out. It’s just difficult to get folks to focus on using a very narrowly focused app that probably has limited utility outside of key events.
Now there’s even more reason to be skeptical of the app craze. Research suggests that mobile browsers have twice the traffic as apps — and it’s growing at 120% of the app rate.
